The Greater Boston Youth Roller Hockey League is forming this Spring. Games will be played at roller hockey rinks around Boston neighborhoods including Charlestown.

What: Youth roller hockey league in the City of Boston and surrounding towns/communities, with the purpose of providing a fun, developmental experience of learning the game of hockey away from the ice rink, focusing of player skill development, skating, competitiveness, team-work, and enjoyment of the game of hockey.
Who: Teams at the ages U8, U10, U12, U14, & U16 from South Boston, Dorchester, Charlestown, Allston-Brighton, West Roxbury, Hyde
Park, Milton, Dedham, Quincy, Canton, Norwood, Weymouth, Braintree.
Where: City of Boston roller hockey rinks, town roller hockey rinks.
Team Format: 8-10 players per team (includes 1 goalie)
1 adult coach per team (mandatory)
8 games minimum
May 1 – June 12, 2021 (7 weeks) – 1 game per week (playoffs tournie final weekend)
GBYRHL Director – Larry Rooney, Catholic Memorial Varsity Hockey Coach 2016-2021, resident of Milton, grew up playing hockey in South Boston Youth Hockey program, Thayer Academy ‘87, Providence College ’91, Buffalo Sabres 1986 NHL Draft.
1 Site Supervisor per program (rink/location) responsible for game supervision, referees at site, and teams from that neighborhood/town.
Referees – Local high school hockey players
Potential Sponsorship: Pure Hockey, Monkey Sports, or Play-it-Again-Sports (t-shirts and supplies).
