Charlestown Youth Hockey Association is an organization that maintains and runs a hockey program open to all interested youth in Charlestown area. Our program is designed to develop skating and hockey skills emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork and responsibility.

CYHA is an affiliate of Massachusetts Hockey, Inc. and USA Hockey, Inc.  We are required to comply with the rules and regulations of these organizations as an affiliated organization.

CYHA Players and coaches must register with USA Hockey (click here to register).  This entitles the skaters to insurance coverage. Members also receive the USA Hockey publication "American Hockey".

CYHA has its own set of By-Laws by which it organizes its affairs. There is Board of Directors elected by the voting membership. An annual election will be conducted and Board of Directors shall serve terms of office of one or two years. The Board of Directors shall direct the policies and operations of the association.

CYHA conduct s the majority of its program at the Emmons-Horigan-O'Neil Rink located at 46 Union Street in Charlestown.

This facility is owned by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). CYHA is a licensee of this facility and has limited control over the operation or maintenance of the facility.

If there are rink related concerns or issues, please let us know. We will work with the DCR to address issues.  Please remember, due to a tigh budget, the DCR has limited resources to work with.
