Learn To Skate
This program is open to boys and girls ages 3 and up. Emphasis is on the fundamental skills of skating, including forwarding skating, turning and stopping, and enjoying physical activity.
This program is a recommended prerequisite to “Learn to Play – Micro” Hockey Program, which is typically a child’s second/third year on the ice.

Open to boys and girls ages 3 and up.
When
The program runs from early November through March.
1 hour sessions take place on Saturday mornings.
Where
All Learn to Skate sessions are held at the O'Neil rink on Union Street.
Equipment
- Hockey skates
- Hockey helmet
- Please no bicycle helmets, as the helmet should be fitted with a cage or a full-face shield.
- Heavy gloves or mittens
- Knee pads or ski/snow pants
- Elbow pads or winter coat covering/protecting in case of a fall
- Note: No hockey sticks at Learn to Skate Program
2023-2024
Learn to Skate is open to boys and girls ages 3 and up. Weekly sessions are held at the O'Neil rink in Charlestown. The program typically runs from November to March. Registration fees are: $180.
Registration opens in October.
